If you are looking for stylish sustainable kids furniture, look no further. I was pleasantly surprised when I ran into Kalon Studios based in California. Their products are non-toxic and locally produced in the US. Each piece is made to order. Here are some of my favorites:

PURE by Ami McKay

I came across these eco-friendly furniture, Pure by Ami McKay, and I'm very pleased with the clean lines with a nature twist they brought.

Using sustainable materials such as biodegradable natural latex rubber, FSC certified hardwood frame, organic cotton batting, and non-toxic adhesive, each pieces will not off-gas in order to promote healthy indoor air quality.

How clever is turning these found objects into new furnishings? Well, that's Max McMurdo of Reestore's green design practice.


His Max loveseat came from a vintage cast-iron bathtub with an upholstered seat and armrest!


Annie, an abandoned shopping cart finds new life as an armchair with padded seat and back.


And Deborah...this desk is made out of aluminum aeroplane wing supported by stainless steel legs and topped with glass.

Mission accomplished!
